The Reality of the Unemployment in the U.S

Recently the Wall Street Journal stated that the unemployment rate has hit a 50 year low.  Ignoring the fact that the Labor Force Participation Rate has continued to fall; it also means that another unemployment surge is likely coming in the next few years.

If the employment rate for the last 70 years were treated like a stock then total employment would be steadily going down. If we think about the buy and sell points as chances to diversify income, or secure debts before the next decline; then, we should consider this present peak the calm before the next storm.
